I started training for the Seven Feather's Body Building Contest in January of 09. By that I mean my lifting became more purposeful with the goal of maintaining and hopefully even putting on a little more muscle before I had to start "leaning down" in June.

The "leaning down" is the part of bodybuilding that really takes the most discipline for me ~ and it's the part I most enjoy. Not because of the losing of fat, but, because food used to control me and now I would control it - to the inth degree!

The contest was in October and it was fantastic! I can't even tell you how much fun it was! I did okay as far as placing goes, but, that isn't what it was about for me. It was about achieving the impossible, going where no one would have thought reasonable for a "former fat girl!" I was a long-term goal that I followed through with and I was so crazy proud of myself!

Will I do it again? Definitely! Now I can see the parts of me I want to "better" from a muscular stand point. I have a whole new goal in sight for my next contest.

I'm sharing this story with you to encourage you to make good, healthy choices for your body and to encourage you to follow your dreams! You CAN do it!
